SUPPORT SERVICES
ALL SERVICES ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL

24 Hr EMERGENCY SHELTER:  Emergency housing and food are offered to victims and their children who have experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse or are in fear for their safety.  Shelter, with appropriate services, is offered for varied lengths of stay. 

24 Hr CRISIS LINE:  Trained staff and volunteers provide domestic violence and sexual assault intervention 24 hours a day.  Callers are assisted in clarifying problems and identifying alternatives.  We also have a Children’s Advocate and a Sexual Assault Advocate available to speak with victims. 

EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION:  Transportation may be provided for victims who need shelter. 

LEGAL ADVOCATE:  Trained staff and volunteers provide informational and emotional support for victims seeking to address the violence in their lives through the legal system. 

RESTRAINING ORDERS:  Advocates can answer questions and assist in the completion and filing of restraining orders.  

HOSPITAL ADVOCACY:  Informational and emotional support is provided by trained staff and volunteer advocates for victims who are brought to the hospital due to injuries from a domestic dispute or sexual assault. 

WOMEN’S SUPPORT GROUPS:  Outreach support groups are offered for battered women and survivors of sexual assault or childhood molestation. Topics discussed include issues with self-esteem, assertiveness, self-sufficiency, life without violence and more.  Weekly meetings are held at SAFE HAVEN, please call 526-3421 for more information. 

ADOLESCENT SUPPORT GROUPS:  Outreach support groups for adolescent victims of dating violence or violence in the home meet weekly to deal with issues of self-esteem, assertiveness, healthy relationships and more.  Please call 526-3421 for more information. 

CHILDREN’S SUPPORT GROUP:  Held in conjunction with the women’s support group, this group gives children of domestic abuse the opportunity to discuss the different issues surrounding the violence in their homes.  This support group also helps children develop safety plans to keep themselves safe during a violent episode, teaches resolution skills, positive ways to cope with stress, developing self esteem and more.  Children of all ages are welcome.  Meetings are held at SAFE HAVEN in conjunction with the women’s support group. 

SEXUAL ASSAULT ADVOCACY & SUPPORT GROUP:  Information and emotional support is provided by trained staff and volunteers for victims who are seeking to address their sexual assault issues. Please call for days and times of support groups. 

CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY:  Provides support groups and school programs to help children identify and learn to deal with domestic violence. 

WOMEN OVER 50: Support group provided to help women to deal with stress.  Call for more information.
